TRAINING & EDUCATION

I want to speak to you directly for this one, so let’s ignore the shift in tenses for a moment (this is a nod to my grammar nerds).

Imagine this; You’re a curious little kid. Your parents are tinkering in the living room, thinking you’re asleep. The lights are off, door slightly open, light peeking in, you’re hiding under the covers and listening to Dr. Ruth or watching Real Sex on HBO, too young to fully understand what’s happening, but being fully captivated by the way people live. I don’t know what this is, but I know I want it.

That was me, completely fascinated by human sexuality, always curious to know more.

I would spend the next few decades of my life watching, listening and reading about sexuality and human behavior, but it wasn’t until the pandemic hit that I finally formalized my education and shifted from self-study to certified.

Long before we were locked indoors, I began my professional wellness journey by becoming a Certified Holistic Health Coach in 2014 with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. In 2017 I wanted to add movement to my repertoire and I obtained my 200hr yoga teacher certification, specializing in injury prevention, from St. Petersburg Yoga.

When it felt like the world was ending and we all had time to assess what we really wanted out of this life, I started making vides about sex. I wanted them to be fun, funny, sexy and engaging. You could say that was the birth of Sex(y) Education and Birds & Bees Don’t Fck, but I didn’t know it. You can watch my most popular video here. Soon after I started producing these videos I began working n a leadership position at The Walt Disney Company and ABC Signature Studios, supporting the Television Physical and Post Production Departments in returning to work and navigating production throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Needless to say, I had to shelf the project.

What I was able to do was start working on the qualifications I knew I wanted and needed to have in order to safely guide people through getting to the best sex they wanted whether it was on screen or in real life. Here is what followed:

Plus countless other trainings and workshops. The learning never ends, and I love that.
